Directorate of Tea Tribes Welfare, Assam invites application in prescribed forms for Tea Tribes Scholarship 2019-20 for Tea Tribes Students. The application form of Scholarships for Tea Tribes is now available in offline mode through the official link provided here. However, students need to fulfil the eligibility criteria and selection criteria for Tea Tribes Scholarship 2019-20.
Who is Offering this Financial Assistance/Scholarship :
The Financial Assistance/Scholarship is being offered by Directorate for Welfare of Tea & Ex-Tea Garden Tribes. The objective of the scheme is to provide Financial Assistance/Scholarship to students belonging to Tea & Ex-Tea Garden Tribes for the benefit of the poor students.
Types of Tea Tribes Scholarship 2019-20 :
1. Award of Financial Assistance/Scholarship to ANM/GNM/B.Sc Nursing/M.Sc Nursing/Para-Medical and Technical courses like Polytechnic , ITI, PGDM, BBA, BCA, PGDTM, D El. Ed.
2. Award of Financial Assistance/Scholarship for Higher Studies to IIT, IT, Medical Sciences (MBBS, BDS, BAMS, MAMS, BVSc, MVSc etc. and above) Engineering (BE, B.Tech, M.Tech, B.Arch and above) Management (MBA (Hotel/Hospital etc.), Law (LLB, LLM in reputed and established institute), B.Sc/M.Sc(Agri), B.Sc (Bio-Tech), Post-graduate courses (Like – MA, M.Sc, M.Com, MSW, MBA and equivalent), M.Phil, PhD. and such other higher studies equivalent or higher thereto. Applicants pursing post doctoral studies are also eligible for financial assistance under the scheme.
3. Award of Pre-Matric Scholarship of Class –IX and X.
Eligibility Criteria for Financial Assistance/Scholarship :
1. The applicant must be a citizen of India.
2. He/she should be a permanent resident of Assam and must belong to Tea Tribes’ Community.
3.Only economically weaker Sections of the students of the Tea & Ex-Tea Garden Tribes are eligible to apply under this scheme.
Selection Criteria for Financial Assistance/Scholarship :
1. The Sub-Divisional Beneficiary Selection Committees headed by Minister / MLA / Deputy Commissioner / SDO (C) selects the eligible students and submit the list to the Directorate.
2. The Committees are constituted through Govt. notifications and comprises the following as the Chairman, Member Secretary and Members.
3. The Director takes the approval of the Chairman, State Level Advisory Committee (SLAC) while finalizing the list of beneficiaries.
How To Apply :
1. Filled in application forms duly authenticated by head/in-charge of the educational institutions are to be submitted to the respective Sub-Divisional Welfare Officers/Deputy Commissioner/SDO (C) through the heads of the respective institutions where the applicant is studying latest by 30-08-2019.
2. In respect of Diphu, Hamren and Bokajan Sub-Divisions : Filled in forms are to be submitted to the Heads of the Institutions and the Heads of the Institutions in turn will submit the same to the respective Sub-Divisional Welfare Officers/Deputy Commissioner/SDO (C) by 30-08-2019.
Documents To Be Enclosed Along With Application Form:
1. Photostatted Copy of application form along with original signature of the applicant and Head of Institution.
2. Caste Certificate (TGL/EX-TGL).
3. Income Certificate of Parents/Guardian.
4. Institution Admission Receipts.
5. Photocopy of Bank Passbook.
