Secondary Education Department, Assam has released the official notification of Assam Higher Secondary (HS) TET 2020. Interested and eligible candidates may apply online for Assam HS TET Assam 2020-2021 at ssa.assam.gov.in starting from 20th December 2020.

Assam Higher Secondary TET is usually conducted for the recruitment of Post Graduate Teacher (PGT) against the vacant posts in provincialized Higher Secondary Schools of Assam. Secondary Education Department, Assam going to conduct the HS TET i.e. Higher Secondary TET tentatively on 10th January 2021.

Assam Higher Secondary TET Eligibility Criteria


Educational Qualification: Post-Graduation with at least 50 % marks (or its equivalent) from recognized University and Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) from National Council for Teachers Education recognized institution, but degrees obtained from off campus and distance education institutions shall not be considered as valid. (If the Territorial Jurisdiction of the institution is beyond their approved jurisdiction then the Institution and the subject in which the degree is awarded must have approval of UGC and all other concerned authorities)

Resident ship: Candidate must be a citizen of India and permanent resident of Assam

Age Limit:
 Age of the candidate must not be less than 21 years of age. At the time of appointment in Govt./Prov. Schools upper and lower age limit will be applicable as per the Govt. rules/act prevailing at that time.

Structure & Syllabus of Assam Higher Secondary TET


The examination shall be for 200 marks with two papers (Paper-I & Paper-II) of 200 multiple choice Questions (MCQs), each one of them carrying equal marks.

1. Paper I (Common to all candidates)
2. Paper II: Option A - Commerce, Option B - Science, Option C - General Studies and Current Affairs

- Candidate has to choose their option for paper II , Social Category etc. with utmost care. Change of option and caste (Social Category) once selected will not be allowed to change in subsequent stage at any cost whatsoever.

- Question paper will be available in English, Assamese, Bengali and Bodo language.

Assam HS TET 2020 Qualifying Marks


To qualify in TET Examination the candidate must score at least 60% marks in each paper. However, 5% relaxation in marks will be given for candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC/MOBC/PH candidates. The candidate whose degree of physical disability is more than 40% is only eligible to apply, under the PH category.

Validity of Assam Higher Secondary TET Certificate


All candidates who pass the TET will be awarded a certificate. The validity of the certificate shall be for a maximum period of 7(Seven) years from the date of issue of the certificate by the Empowered Committee, Government of Assam subject to the condition that the candidate otherwise fulfills the eligibility criteria prescribed as per Govt. of Assam Service rule for recruitment as Post Graduate Teacher.

Salient Points of Assam Higher Secondary TET Exam


- As per the aforesaid Service Rules, in addition to such academic and professional qualification mentioned in the Schedule for direct recruitment to the post, all candidates shall have to appear and pass in the Teachers Eligibility Test (TET) conducted by the Government scoring minimum 60% marks in case of General category candidates and minimum of 55% marks in case of SC/ST/OBC/MOBC/PH candidates.

- B.Ed degree received from off Campus Centres or unrecognized institutions/universities shall not be accepted.

- Degree means Master Degree no equivalence shall be allowed.

- Blind candidates will be allowed to sit in the examination for an additional 50 minutes than the normal candidates, a separate room/hall may be provided for them along with his scribe. Scribe need to be certified by the District Social Welfare Officer. It must be ensured that Scribe carries the certificate to the examination hall/room.

- The age limit of the candidates will be calculated on the basis of the School Leaving Certificate /HSLC Admit Card/ Certificate issued by a recognized Board/Council and no other document shall be accepted in lieu of the mentioned documents.

Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti (NVS) has released the official notification of Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Selection Test, 2021 for admission into Class VI. Any interested students want to get admitted into Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas of Assam have to appear this JNVST examination.


In accordance with the National Policy of Education (1986), Government of India started Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas (JNVs). Presently the JNVs are spread in 27 States and 08 Union Territories. These are co-educational residential schools fully financed and administered by Government of India through an autonomous organization, Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti.

Facility for Students Getting Assam JNV Admission


- The medium of instruction in JNVs is the mother tongue or regional language up to Class VIII and thereafter English for Mathematics and Science and Hindi for Social Science.
- Students of the JNVs appear for board examinations of the Central Board of Secondary Education.
- While education in the schools is free including board & lodging, uniform and textbooks, a sum of Rs. 600/- per month is collected only from the students of Classes IX to XII towards Vidyalaya Vikas Nidhi.
- However, students belonging to SC/ST categories, all Girl students and the students whose family income is below poverty line (BPL) are exempted.
- In respect of wards of Government employees other than exempted category (Students of classes VI to VIII, all SC/ST & Girl students and wards of BPL families) Vikas Nidhi will be charged @Rs.1500/- per month or actual children education allowance received by the parent per month whichever is less.
- However, VVN shall not be less than Rs.600/- per student per month.

Eligibility Criteria for Assam JNV Admission 2020


Geo location: Only the candidates from the district concerned where the Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya has been opened are eligible to apply for admission

Age Limit: 
A candidate seeking admission must not have been born before 1st May 2008 and after 30th April 2012 (both dates are inclusive). This will apply to candidates of all categories, including those who belong to the Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST) and Other Backward Class (OBC).

Educational Qualification: A candidate appearing for the selection test must be studying in Class-V for the whole of the academic session 2020-21 in a Government/Government aided or other recognized schools or ‘B’ certificate competency course of National Institute of Open Schooling in the same district where he/she is seeking admission.

Candidate who has not been promoted and admitted to Class-V before 15th September, 2020 is not eligible to apply.

No of Attempt/s: No candidate is eligible to appear in the selection test for the second time, under any circumstances.

Rural Quota: 
A Candidate claiming admission under rural quota must have studied and passed classes III, IV and V from a Govt. / Govt. aided / recognized school spending one full academic session each year in a school located in rural area.

At least 75% of the seats in a district will be filled by candidates selected from rural areas of the district and remaining seats will be filled from the Urban areas of the district.

Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Selection Test 2021 Details


The selection test will be of two-hour duration from 11:30 am to 01:30 pm and will have 3 sections with only objective type questions. There are 80 questions in all for 100 marks.

JNV Selection Test for admission to Class-VI in JNVs for the academic session 2021-22 will be held in On Saturday, the 10th April, 2021 at 11.30 A.M in one phase for all Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas.

The last date to submit online application is 15th December 2020.

Admit Cards of Navodaya Vidyalaya Selection Test


The admit cards will be made available as per date decided by NVS in due course which will be displayed on application portal. The admit cards shall be downloaded free of cost by the candidates/parents before the conduct of JNVST.

Assam JNV Admission 2020 Result


The result of JNV Selection Test 2021 is expected to be announced by June 2021. Candidates can get the result from the admission portal. The result will also be displayed in the offices of the concerned:
