Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti (NVS) has released the official notification of Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Selection Test, 2021 for admission into Class VI. Any interested students want to get admitted into Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas of Assam have to appear this JNVST examination.


In accordance with the National Policy of Education (1986), Government of India started Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas (JNVs). Presently the JNVs are spread in 27 States and 08 Union Territories. These are co-educational residential schools fully financed and administered by Government of India through an autonomous organization, Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti.

Facility for Students Getting Assam JNV Admission


- The medium of instruction in JNVs is the mother tongue or regional language up to Class VIII and thereafter English for Mathematics and Science and Hindi for Social Science.
- Students of the JNVs appear for board examinations of the Central Board of Secondary Education.
- While education in the schools is free including board & lodging, uniform and textbooks, a sum of Rs. 600/- per month is collected only from the students of Classes IX to XII towards Vidyalaya Vikas Nidhi.
- However, students belonging to SC/ST categories, all Girl students and the students whose family income is below poverty line (BPL) are exempted.
- In respect of wards of Government employees other than exempted category (Students of classes VI to VIII, all SC/ST & Girl students and wards of BPL families) Vikas Nidhi will be charged @Rs.1500/- per month or actual children education allowance received by the parent per month whichever is less.
- However, VVN shall not be less than Rs.600/- per student per month.

Eligibility Criteria for Assam JNV Admission 2020


Geo location: Only the candidates from the district concerned where the Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya has been opened are eligible to apply for admission

Age Limit: 
A candidate seeking admission must not have been born before 1st May 2008 and after 30th April 2012 (both dates are inclusive). This will apply to candidates of all categories, including those who belong to the Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST) and Other Backward Class (OBC).

Educational Qualification: A candidate appearing for the selection test must be studying in Class-V for the whole of the academic session 2020-21 in a Government/Government aided or other recognized schools or ‘B’ certificate competency course of National Institute of Open Schooling in the same district where he/she is seeking admission.

Candidate who has not been promoted and admitted to Class-V before 15th September, 2020 is not eligible to apply.

No of Attempt/s: No candidate is eligible to appear in the selection test for the second time, under any circumstances.

Rural Quota: 
A Candidate claiming admission under rural quota must have studied and passed classes III, IV and V from a Govt. / Govt. aided / recognized school spending one full academic session each year in a school located in rural area.

At least 75% of the seats in a district will be filled by candidates selected from rural areas of the district and remaining seats will be filled from the Urban areas of the district.

Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Selection Test 2021 Details


The selection test will be of two-hour duration from 11:30 am to 01:30 pm and will have 3 sections with only objective type questions. There are 80 questions in all for 100 marks.

JNV Selection Test for admission to Class-VI in JNVs for the academic session 2021-22 will be held in On Saturday, the 10th April, 2021 at 11.30 A.M in one phase for all Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas.

The last date to submit online application is 15th December 2020.

Admit Cards of Navodaya Vidyalaya Selection Test


The admit cards will be made available as per date decided by NVS in due course which will be displayed on application portal. The admit cards shall be downloaded free of cost by the candidates/parents before the conduct of JNVST.

Assam JNV Admission 2020 Result


The result of JNV Selection Test 2021 is expected to be announced by June 2021. Candidates can get the result from the admission portal. The result will also be displayed in the offices of the concerned:

i. Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya
ii. District Education Officer
iii. District Magistrate
iv. Deputy Commissioner, Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti of the Region.

Assam Police SI Exam Details


- Candidates can download Admit Card for Written Test from the official website w.e.f. (www.slprbassam.in) 16-11-2020 for 6 days before exam date.

- Candidates requiring further assistance for downloading the Admit Cards can approach Help Desks that would be set up in the Offices of the Superintendents of Police, in all Districts, on 19.11.2020 and 20.11.2020. Help Desks will provide necessary support after verification of all records.

- Candidates shall bring a recent Post Card Size Photograph, which will have to be shown at the Entrance Gate of the Examination Venue and to be submitted to the Invigilator on duty at the time of the Written Test, in addition to the production of any one of the following documents, as identity proof, in original:

i) Aadhar Card

ii) Passport

iii) Driving License

iv) PAN Card

v) Voter ID Card

- A self attested photocopy of the Identity Proof should also be brought by the Candidates and submitted to the Invigilator.

- The timing of exam is from 12 pm to 2 pm. However, Candidates are to report at the entrance of the Examination Venue minimum 2’ hours (Two and a half hours) prior to the starting time of the exam i.e. they must report by 9:30 am, due to COVID-19 Protocols.

Items to bring along with Assam Police Admit Card


Candidates must not bring any mobile phone, smart watch, calculator, bags and ornaments or any other electronic gadgets to the Test Venue. Anyone found violating this rule shall be barred from appearing in the Test and his/her Candidature shall be rejected.

The following items are only allowed in the Examination Hall:

* Three (3) Ball Point Pens (Black)

* One (1) Pencil

* Eraser

* Face Mask

* Spectacles, if used by the Candidate

*  I-Cards, photo copy of I-card, Post Card Size Photographs, Admit Card- issued as per this Advertisement.

No other item will be allowed into the Examination Centre and there will be no storage facility provided at the Entrance Gate or anywhere else in the Centre.
