Cotton University PG Admission Eligibility Criteria

Bachelor’s Degree with Honours/ Major from a recognised university (refer to the notification of General Information for Admission to PG Programmes 2020-21 for details). Candidates who have appeared/ appearing in UG Final Semester Examination 2020 are eligible to apply. They should upload the 5th Semester mark sheet if asked to upload the final mark sheet by the online application software.

Cotton University PG Admission Selection Process

- Except for the new self-financing programmes of MLISc, LLM and PG Diploma in Gender studies, Cotton University reserves 50% of the seats for Cotton graduates passed in 2020 or 2019 only.
- An applicant who graduated from Cotton University in 2020 or 2019 with the Honours/Major subject as her his subject of choice for the PG programme, shall be considered for admission in the 50% seats reserved for Cotton Graduates on the basis of the CGPA (Core) obtained in the UG examination.
- Admission in Open Category (Graduates from any recognised institution including Cotton University) shall be based on marks obtained
in the Cotton Post-Graduate Entrance Examination (CPGEE 2020).
- The 50% seats reserved for Cotton Graduates in certain subjects as mentioned vide page 2 in the general information for admission to PG
Programmes 2020-21 shall also be filled on the basis of CPGEE 2020 scores.
- Notification for CPGEE 2020 shall be published in the University website shortly by the Controller of Examinations.

Cotton Post-Graduate Entrance Examination (CPGEE 2020)

- Cotton Post-Graduate Entrance Examination (CPGEE 2020) is an entrance examination for admission into various PG courses offered by Cotton University under Open Category; i.e., Graduates from any recognised institution including Cotton University.
- CGPEE 2020 shall be held during 15 - 21 October 2020.
- The examinations shall be of Objective Multiple Choice type questions and OMR answer sheets shall be used.
- The entrance examination fee of Rs 800.00 (Rupees eight hundred) will have to be paid by all candidates, including Cotton Graduates, at the time of registration for online application. However, there will be a provision to refund the entrance examination fees to those Cotton Graduates who opt for CGPA based selection only and do not appear in the CPGEE 2020.

CPGEE 2020 Examination Fee

Students have to pay Rs. 800.00, payable only through the web portal for online application.

Pay: As per new PAY MATRIX of MSSV

Eligibility Criteria:

1. Associate Professor:
(i) Good academic record with a Ph. D. Degree in the concerned/allied/relevant disciplines.
(ii) A Master's Degree with at least 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed).
(iii) A minimum of eight years of experience of teaching and / or research in an academic/research position equivalent to that of Assistant Professor in a University (regular/ non-sanctioned), College or Accredited Research Institution/industry with a minimum of seven publications in the peer-reviewed or UGC-listed journals and a total research score of Seventy five (75) as per the criteria given in Appendix II, Table 2.
(iv) Contribution to educational innovation, design of new curricula and courses, and technology-mediated teaching learning process with evidence of having guided doctoral candidates and research students.

2. Assistant Professor:
(i) A Master„s degree with 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point-scale wherever the grading system is followed) in a concerned/relevant/allied subject from an Indian University, or an equivalent degree from an accredited foreign university
(ii) Besides fulfilling the above qualifications, the candidate must have cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by the UGC or the CSIR, or a similar test accredited by the UGC, like SLET/SET or who are or have been awarded a Ph. D. Degree in accordance with the University Grants Commission (Minimum Standards and Procedure for Award of M.Phil./Ph.D. Degree) Regulations, 2009 or 2016 and their amendments from time to time as the case may be exempted from NET/SLET/SET :
(iii) NET/SLET/SET shall also not be required for such Masters Programmes in disciplines for which NET/SLET/SET is not conducted by the UGC, CSIR or similar test accredited by the UGC, like SLET/SET.

3. Assistant Professor (Sankaradeva Studies):
(i) A Master„s degree with 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point-scale wherever the grading system is followed) in Assamese/ English/ History/ Political Science from an Indian University, or an equivalent degree from an accredited foreign university
(ii) Besides fulfilling the above qualifications, the candidate must have cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by the UGC or the CSIR, or a similar test accredited by the UGC, like SLET/SET or who are or have been awarded a Ph. D. Degree in accordance with the University Grants Commission (Minimum Standards and Procedure for Award of M.Phil./Ph.D. Degree) Regulations, 2009 or 2016 and their amendments from time to time as the case may be exempted from NET/SLET/SET.
(iii) Candidate shall have done Ph.D. in Sankaradeva and his works or pursuing a Ph.D. degree in subject which may be directly related to Sankaradeva and his works or candidates who have done an active research program/ project on Sankaradeva and his works.

4. Assistant for Academic Branch:
(i) Candidate must have passed Bachelor Degree or an equivalent examination from any recognized Board/University.
(ii) Candidate must have experience of working at least two years in Educational Institute/ Govt. & Private Organization.
(iii) Minimum 6 (six) months Certificate Course on basic software packages of Computer Applications such as MS Word, Excel, Power Point, etc. from reputed institution.
(iv) Knowledge of Assamese and English typing on the computer.

5. Grade IV:
(i) The candidate must have passed HSLC or an equivalent examination from any recognised Board/University.
(ii) The candidate must have experience of working at least two years in Educational Institute/ Govt. & Private Organization

Application Fee: Candidate are required to pay an amount of Rs. 2,000.00 (Rupees two thousand) only for teaching post and Rs. 1,000.00 (Rupees one thousand) only for non-teaching post by demand draft in favour of “REGISTRAR, MAHAPURUSHA SRIMANTA SANKARADEVA VISWAVIDYALAYA” payable at “State Bank of India, Nagaon Main Branch (IFSC: SBIN0000146)” or Cash at Accounts Branch of the University as an application fees for the post.

Educational Qualification/ Experience/ Expertise:

1. The Expert shall have a Master’s degree in Environmental Science / Environmental Management/ Social science / Social Welfare / Social Management or similar field with minimum 10 years of total experience and minimum of 5 years’ experience overseeing Energy Infrastructure projects preferably transmission project of voltage level 132KV and above in relevant field. He/she must have experience of working  least in two EAP funded projects the duration of which shall be at least one year for each project.

2. Experience in implementing and monitoring Gender policy, Environmental and Social Impact Assessment and to prepare ESMPF, ESMP, Resettlement Action Plan, establishment of Grievence Redressal Mechanism(GRM) and addressing the grievences, Preparation of Indigenous People Planning Framework (IPPF), Stakeholder and Public Consultation etc in line with the policy and frame work of International Funding Institutions.

3. Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English language are must;

4. Excellent ability to initiate collaboration across divisions and work effectively and constructively with people from diverse cultural and professional backgrounds.

5. Experience in stakeholder engagement and working on inter-institutional programs.
